Citrus - Chlorosis

Symptoms
Symptoms of zinc deficiency appear on young leaves first. They show yellow patches in the interveinal areas (mottle leaf). Along the veins, an irregular green border remains. The youngest leaves look small and trim (little leaf) and are often upright.

Reasons
Zinc deficiency on leaves of orange Manganese deficiency causes similar symptoms.

Symptoms
Symptoms of zinc deficiency appear on young leaves first. They show yellow patches in the interveinal areas (mottle leaf). New leaves are significantly stunted and often occur in rosettes because the twig internodes are shortened. Twigs die back.

Zinc deficiency on branches of orange Zinc deficiency is a widespread nutritional disorder of citrus.

Zinc deficiency on orange made worse by

  • Organic soils
  • High pH soils
  • Soils rich in phosphorus
  • Soils receiving high phosphorus application
  • Cold wet conditions
